Water-Resistant Fabric Types

There are two kinds of waterproof and breathable fabrics: water-resistant and waterproof. 

The former is divided into fiber/cloth type (not windproof but has good air permeability) and 

transparent type (windproof but poor-air permeability); the later usually has two layers or 

three layers, two layers are softer than three layers, and the permeability is better,

but the three layers has better relatively.
